Recruit Filipino Skilled Workers for Ireland

Fil-Expat helps Irish employers recruit qualified Filipino workers under the correct employment permit route. Ireland uses occupation eligibility, salary thresholds, and labor market rules to determine whether a non-European Economic Area worker can be hired.

Hiring Filipino Workers for Ireland

The two common routes are the Critical Skills Employment Permit and the General Employment Permit. Occupations can be on the Critical Skills list, the Ineligible list, or the general eligible pool.

Core Work and Migration Requirements
  • The job must be eligible for an Irish employment permit. Ineligible occupations cannot normally receive an employment permit.
  • Critical Skills occupations use the Critical Skills Employment Permit route when the role and salary conditions are met.
  • Other eligible jobs can use the General Employment Permit. A Labour Market Needs Test is required for many General Employment Permit applications.
  • From 1 March 2026, the general minimum annual remuneration for many General Employment Permits is EUR 36,605.
  • From 1 March 2026, the general minimum annual remuneration for many Critical Skills Employment Permits is EUR 40,904.
  • Healthcare assistants and home carers have a separate lower threshold. From 1 March 2026, the minimum is EUR 32,691, subject to the current employment permit rules.
  • Employers must also meet the applicable workforce composition and employment permit conditions.
  • Regulated healthcare professionals need Irish professional recognition and registration. Nurses trained outside the European Union first apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland for qualification recognition and then registration.
  • For Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland registration, accepted English evidence includes International English Language Testing System or Occupational English Test results at the required scores unless another approved pathway applies.
Qualification and Professional Requirements

Fil-Expat verifies that the role is permit-eligible before sourcing. For nurses, we can organize qualification, clinical experience, registration, and English documentation. The Irish authorities and professional regulators make the final decisions.

Philippine Recruitment and Deployment Requirements

Irish recruitment must also follow the Philippine deployment rules. Fil-Expat supports employer accreditation, job order processing, employment contract review, worker documentation, and deployment clearance.
