Recruit Filipino Workers for Malta

Fil-Expat helps Maltese employers recruit qualified Filipino workers through the Single Permit process and the Philippine deployment process. Malta has added new pre-departure requirements in 2026, so early preparation is important.

Hiring Filipino Workers for Malta

The Single Permit combines the employment license and residence permit for work lasting more than six months. The Maltese employer submits the application. First-time workers coming from abroad now face a mandatory pre-departure course requirement.

Core Work and Migration Requirements
  • The Maltese employer submits the Single Permit application. The third-country national then confirms the information in the online process.
  • For most new applications, the vacancy must be advertised on Jobsplus and EURES for at least three weeks within the two months before application. Exemptions can apply.
  • First-time applicants from abroad must complete the Pre-Departure Course for applications covered from 1 March 2026.
  • The Pre-Departure Course covers living and working in Malta, workplace rights and duties, English communication, and cultural awareness. It includes online learning and a live interview.
  • Tourism and hospitality workers can also need the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Pass for covered roles.
  • Common Single Permit documents include a passport with at least eight months’ validity, a signed Europass curriculum vitae, health insurance, an employment contract, job description, and qualification evidence.
  • Foreign qualifications can require recognition through the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre.
  • Malta introduced an automated health screening process for work permits in May 2026. The applicable health screening requirement must be completed through the current official system.
Qualification and Professional Requirements

Malta is a good market for careful candidate preparation. Fil-Expat can screen hospitality, healthcare, skilled, and professional candidates before the Single Permit stage. We also check Skills Pass, qualification recognition, and health screening requirements for the exact role.

Philippine Recruitment and Deployment Requirements

The Maltese employer must also complete the Philippine employer accreditation and job order process. Fil-Expat coordinates both sides so the job, contract, and worker documentation remain consistent from recruitment through deployment.
